Our story begins in the year 1461. The earth is still flat, and Lech is known only to a few wayfaring travellers. Yet it is in this time long past that the roots of Rudi Schneider's family tree were formed.

Some years later in 1963, the earth is round and Lech is a special secret shared among winter sports fans - and Rudi Schneider starts construction on a breakfast board hotel: twenty-five beds in one of the prettiest places in Arlberg, right on a sunny plateau - today we call it the sun terrace - over Lech. From whence the name: Plattenhof.

In 1965, Rudi married Karin Dees and together they welcomed their first guest. And the second, the third...

In addition, that bit of news got passed around. The house was constantly expanded and renovated.

The following were added:

• our friendly lounge
• a well-stocked wine cellar
• a beautiful house bar with "Internet Cafe"
• a sun-drenched winter garden
• sixty rooms and suites
• an indoor leisure pool of 400m², and
• our new, wonderful sauna world

Well - Lech is a household name around most of the world, and the Plattenhof is more beautiful than ever before! We are proud to bear the distinction of "4-Star Superior", and to be a member of the "Deluxe Hotels" in Lech am Arlberg.

Michael and Claudia work alongside their parents Rudi and Karin with heart and soul.
